Hi, I'm Dare (like truth or dare)! Any pronouns are cool for me 👍

I'm an independent artist specializing in figurative illustration, sequential art (comics), and 2D animation. I have a BFA in Animation from California State University, Fullerton. My life's goal is to make a living off my original stories, in the form of comics and animation! 📖
I got stuff cooking up about a catgirl waitress in the big city, a depressed superhero working gigs for a hero delivery startup, a werewolf PI solving monster mysteries, and so much more...👀
Whenever I'm not drawing (which I usually am), I'm either working at my retail job, window shopping online, spending time with my friends, or taking care of my ball python 🐍❤️I currently offer commissions! I can draw your oc, your blorbo, assets for your content creation career, and anything else you can think of. You can find more info in the Commissions button above! 🖌️I stream on Twitch, catch me there Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8pm ET if you'd like to see me draw or game live!I also post videos on YouTube! I'm finally becoming the YouTuber I always threatened everyone I would be.
The video below is my channel trailer, which gives you a glimpse of what I'm about. Here's a link to my latest video!

Pre-designed character - A character that already has a visual for me to follow. Will not include my input as a character designer.Character's First Sheet - You already have a character in mind, but they have never been drawn before. Will not include my input as a character designer.New character design - We will work together to create a character. You will retain full usage rights to the character and design. I will continue to use the art piece in my portfolio. Visual development concept art will be included (which may be in pencil or digital)

Reference sheets will include
* 3/4 front and back views OR front/side/back views as an option for feral characters
* color swatches
* notable details such as tongue, eyes, paw pads, etc (if desired)

Alternate outfits will be provided on a separate sheet.

Character Design Visual Development

The character design process will include inspiration notes, concept sketches, multiple rounds of design drafts, detail refinement, color tests, and the final reference sheet.

The character designs will have the same layout as the predesigned sheet examples (I will eventually make official sheets for these characters to put here). I just use Piercemon and Flaymon as examples of what the process looks like.Tip : if you have an idea for a character and don't want my input, but they don't have any drawings done of them yet, I would recommend a full body illustration instead! Then I can use that to make a reference sheet. However, these will count as two separate commissions and I will have to charge accordingly.

PNGTubers

PNGtubers are Vtuber models that are not rigged like normal 2D models, but instead are still images or animated GIFs that are switched between when the user is speaking.A PNGTuber state for static PNGTubers includes 4 frames: Quiet/Eyes Open, Quiet/Blink, Talking/Eyes Open, Talking/Blink.
A state can be an emotion, an alternate outfit, etc. States can be toggled between in the PNGTuber program of the client's choice.
(I recommend VeadoTube Mini, a PNGTuber program made by lovely LGBT+ artists who have a full VTuber version coming soon. Not sponsored, promise!)
Static PNGTuber states will be provided to the client at full resolution in a PNG file format with a transparent background.
Animated PNGTuber states will be provided to the client at full resolution in a GIF file format with a transparent background.
States will be in flat color, with cel shading being an extra charge.

Terms of Service

These terms are to protect both the commissioner and me as the artist. In these terms, the potential commissioner will be referred to as "the client," and the art I create for the commissioner will be referred to as "the commission," "the piece," "the project," or "the drawing."

By commissioning me, you are agreeing to the following terms:

  • These terms can change at any time without warning.

  • Failing to abide by any of the following terms and conditions may result in refusal to work with the client, cutting contact with the client, and/or the sudden cancellation of the project with no refund to the client.

MY RIGHTS AS THE ARTIST

  1. I have the right to do background checks on potential clients (profile checking, web searching, etc.) for my safety and security before working with the client.

  2. I have the right to decline a client's project and I am not obligated to provide a reason for doing so.

  3. I have the right to cancel a client's project for any reason at any time, with a refund being provided to the client.

  4. I will only accept one commission from a client at a time. The client can commission me for another project after I finish their previous one.

  5. I have the right to take artistic liberties if I am not given much information to work with. A through, detailed visual reference or written description is greatly appreciated, but never required.

  6. I have the right to save any commissioned piece to my portfolio to promote myself if I desire.

  7. I reserve the right to remove a commissioned piece from my portfolio or any of my social media accounts if I desire.

  8. Unless asked otherwise, I have the right to post works in progress (WIPs) and/or the finished drawing to any of my social media accounts or monetization platforms, including but not limited to: Instagram, Bluesky, Twitter, or Patreon.
               a.        I will accept private commissions if the client desires, or withhold the client's identity if I post the piece publicly.

  9. I have the right to work on the project on a livestream if I desire, unless the client asks otherwise.

  10. I have the right to retain and claim ownership of any unused ideas and concepts I produce while working on the project, and I may implement those ideas in the future outside of the client's project at my discretion.

  11. I have the right to edit or change the client's piece after the project has concluded if I desire.

  12. I have the right to sell items based on any project I work on (including but not limited to: prints, stickers) including the client's piece if I so choose.

  13. I only provide PNG or GIF files when showing works in progress or delivering the client the finished piece. I do not provide PSD files or any other layered type files to the client.

  14. I have the right not to respond to direct messages on my social media accounts. I can only do business with a client through direct messages in Discord (@daresayhber) or email ([email protected]).
               a.        If for any reason a client is unable to consistently communicate through Discord or email, we can temporarily talk through social media DMs and hopefully figure something out that works for both of us.

CLIENT CONDUCT

  1. If a potential client appears in any way suspicious (including but not limited to: their account was made recently, has no posts, most of their followers appear to be bots, etc.), then I will refuse to work with them.

  2. The client must inform me if they want their project to be private, not be posted publicly, or to withhold their identity when I post the final piece.

  3. If the client wants to cancel the project for any reason, they will contact me about cancellation. The client will not issue a refund from their end on the payment website that was used to send me payment.

  4. The client will state their intentions clearly when they message me, instead of short, uninformative messages such as "hey" or "can we talk?"

  5. The client is allowed to send me reference material to work from on their project, but the client is not to encourage me to copy or plagiarize the reference material.

  6. The client will not use generative AI to create visual reference for me to follow.

  7. The client will provide feedback and approval at the times I require. If the client does not respond to my feedback inquiry within seven (7) days, I will continue with what I have.
               a.        I will make the feedback deadline more lenient if the client informs me beforehand that they will be unable to respond by that deadline. The client and I will decide on a date and/or time that the client will respond by.

  8. If the client does not respond to me within 14 days of my latest inquiry (without prior warning), I will pause working on the piece and put the project "on hold." If the client does not respond after another 14 days from that point, the project will be considered cancelled and a refund will not be provided to the client.

  9. The client will provide all of the feedback they have to me when I ask, not one edit at a time.

  10. If the client suddenly requires a short notice deadline after I have started working, I will charge a minimum of an additional 70% of the base price of the commission.

  11. The client must have their profile made visible to me before I consider taking on their project. I will not follow a potential client just to confirm their identity and do business with them.

  12. The client must inform me if/when they change their social media handle or username before the project is finished so I still have the ability to identify and contact them.

  13. The client will inform me before the coloring process if they intend to print the final drawing after the project is completed. The finished drawing is originally intended to be viewed in a digital format, and the color profile of the piece will have to be changed to be optimized for printing.

  14. The client will not edit the final drawing under any circumstances, which include but are not limited to: removing my signature or social media handle, changing the colors, drawing over my work, etc.

  15. The client is allowed to edit any work in progress drawings I send to them for the purpose of visually explaining any adjustments they want me to make to the piece.

  16. The client must credit me anywhere they share the finished drawing.

  17. The client will not publicly share the work in progress drawings I send them.

USAGE

  1. The client may use the finished piece for any personal or non-commercial use, on the condition that I am clearly credited, linked, and tagged in the caption or description.

  2. The client is allowed to share the finished drawing anywhere they desire, provided that they credit me, do not edit the piece, and do not gain profit from the piece.

  3. The final drawing or any WIPs shown to the client may not be used for NFTs, cryptocurrency, generative AI training models, or anything related to the sort.
              a.        This rule also applies to all the artwork I produce, not just the client's project.

  4. I retain the rights to all drawings I produce. I do not transfer the rights of the drawing to the client.
              a.        The client will still hold the rights to the concept of the drawing and the character(s) drawn, if applicable.

  5. The client is not to profit off my work. I currently do not offer commercial usage rights for my commission services.
              a.        PNGTubers and Stream Assets are considered one-off projects which I do not require royalties for.

PAYMENT & REFUNDS

  1. I do not being working on a project until the client pays me the full invoiced amount upfront.

  2. Any extra charges made during the drawing process (i.e. revisions fee, etc.) will be calculated at the completion of the drawing, communicated to the client, and will need to be paid before I deliver the final drawing to the client.

  3. I will not send the client the finished piece until the client has paid any outstanding balance that was calculated over the project's duration.

  4. I will decide how much a piece will cost. The client will not haggle with me to get a cheaper price.

  5. Prices listed on my website are base prices, and may be increased for any reason, which I will communicate to the client.

  6. I only accept payment through Venmo (preferred) and Paypal. (I am working to implement Stripe payments in the future.)
              a.        If the client prefers to send payment through Paypal, I will have to add a small additional fee to make up for Paypal's cut when payment is sent. (Currently $0.30 + 2.9% for US domestic transactions and $0.30 + 4.4% or up to 5% for international transactions)
              b.        I do not accept cryptocurrency as payment.

  7. The client WILL NOT send me any amount of money before a final price is calculated. I will send the invoice for the amount the client will pay.

  8. The client will not send me payment as a "gift."

  9. The client should not add a shipping address when sending payment, as I provide a non-physical good.

  10. If the client decides to make major changes to the piece after much progress has been made, I will have to charge a minimum of 20% (up to 70%) of the project's base price as a revision fee. The percentage is at my discretion for how much work I will have to redo.

  11. If the client desires a refund for any reason, they will contact me about issuing them a refund. The client will not issue a refund from their end on the payment website that was used to send me payment.

  12. I can only provide full refunds when the project is still in the sketch phase. If the project must be cancelled any time after that point, I can only refund up to 50% of the sent payment, as low as 10% if the project was almost finished.

  13. If I have to cancel a client's project for any reason on my end, I will alert the client and provide a full refund, regardless of how far along the project is.
              a.        As another option, I can deliver the client the unfinished piece if they prefer.
              b.        If the client is the person who decides the project must be cancelled, I will not provide them the unfinished piece.

  14. Dissatisfaction with the final piece does not warrant a refund.
